ABOUT US
|
Bob's Basingstoke Friends was established as an Inter-Varsity Club (IVC) Group in May 1985 at the Beechdown Club in Basingstoke under the name Basingstoke & North Hampshire IVC (BNHIVC). Over the years since then, it has helped many people find new friends, life partners and generally mix and enjoy a variety of sports & social activities in the North and Central Hampshire area.
Originally the group was aimed at graduates, professionals and career people, but has included over the years many others who also share similar interests.
Until December 2022, the club was a member of the Association of IVCs (www.ivc.org.uk) which has 33 clubs and around 2300 members throughout England, Scotland and Wales. This provided the club with Employers Liability Insurance cover which is a legal requirement for any group with volunteers that organise events during which there could be risks to members or third parties.
Since July 2023, Bob has moved away from Basingstoke to study for a Masters Degree at the University of East Anglia in Norwich, Norfolk. However, there will be occasional events organised by Bob during the periods when he is back in Hampshire to visit friends from his time in the area.
